Our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
Agriculture has shifted in more recent times to refocus on the importance of local communities. And Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is a great way for neighbors to get involved with local farmers and providers of fresh produce, livestock, and other farm products.
-
THE MEET AND PURCHASE
Before the growing season kicks off, you meet with a farmer and purchase share(s) directly. These shares guarantee membership and receipt of fresh foods from the farmer when ready for consumption.
-
THE FARMER SUPPORTED
Once the farmer receives funds from the sold shares, they can cover initial costs for the growing season. These costs include seeds, labor, and some operations required to ensure a healthy yield.
-
GROWING TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY
The farmer will then spend the season carefully maintaining and growing a variety of healthy foods. This yield is specifically grown for CSA members with purchased shares.
-
YOUR LOCAL FOOD SOURCE
As a member of the CSA, you should receive the yield (once ready) on a regular basis. You will have the opportunity to receive fresh produce, grains, or anything else provided by the local farmer you met!
