About Circle G Farms
Our Farm Story
Meet The Guinns
Rooted in Family, Grown with Care
Hi! We’re Spencer and Carly Guinn.
At Circle G Farms, it all started with a shared dream and a piece of land in Danville, Kentucky. In 2012, We purchased a former dairy farm and began transforming it into a thriving, modern farm rooted in tradition. The very first animal to join them was Annie, an orphaned calf who’s still part of the herd today.
With a few repaired fences and a lot of hard work, the farm quickly began to grow. Inspired by Spencer’s grandfather, Luther Guinn, we embraced sustainable farming methods like cover cropping and pasture rotation to care for both our livestock and the land. Over time, a 10-acre experiment led to a growing line of heirloom corn and produce. That work eventually grew into our CSA program, Dinner’s in the Bag meal kits, freezer beef offerings, and stone-milled grains.
In 2020,our daughters brought pigs into the mix and added a fresh layer of creativity to the farm’s story. Today, Circle G offers a wide variety of vegetables, grains, and pasture-raised meats with a focus on honest food, family values, and strong community roots.
The Farm Timeline
Our Farm Through The Years
The Beginning
We bought the old dairy farm in Danville, Kentucky and brought home our very first calf, Annie. She was an orphan and quickly became part of our family. She is still with us today.
Planting New Ideas
We started with a 10 acre field and planted heirloom corn and wholesale produce. That small trial quickly became the foundation for a much bigger vision.
Beef and Milling Begins
We began selling freezer beef and started grinding our heirloom corn into cornmeal and grits right on the farm. Our grains became a key part of both our livestock feed and our pantry offerings.
The Girls Bring The Pigs
Our daughters introduced pigs to the farm and helped us launch our seasonal pork offerings. They care for the animals and enjoy sharing their work with our customers.
A Full Circle Farm
Circle G Farms now raises beef and pork, grows a wide variety of grains and vegetables, and offers CSA shares, bulk meats, stone milled grains, and ready to cook meal kits. Everything we do is rooted in family, tradition, and care for the land.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers From The Farm
Do you use sustainable farming practices?
Yes. Sustainability is at the core of what we do. We use cover crops, pasture rotation, and low stress animal handling to care for the land and animals with long term health in mind.
Are your meats antibiotic-free?
Yes. All of our beef is raised without antibiotics or growth promotants. We believe in raising animals naturally and responsibly to provide the healthiest food possible.
Do you grow your own animal feed?
We do. Our livestock eat grains and hay grown right here on the farm, including heirloom corn, rye, and wheat. This gives us full control over the quality and nutrition of their diet. All of our animals are pasture raised and grain finished, which means they spend most of their time on open grass and are finished with a balanced ration of farm-grown grains for optimal flavor and tenderness.
Do you sell directly to customers?
Absolutely. You can shop our beef, pork, and heirloom grains through our online store, join our seasonal Farmshare program, or purchase during scheduled pickup times right here at the farm.
What makes Circle G Farms different?
We believe in full circle farming. Our livestock feed on grains we grow ourselves, and their manure enriches our fields. Every product we sell is grown or raised on our farm, with sustainability and family values at the heart of it all.
Do you offer farm tours or events?
While we’re not open daily for drop by visits, we do host seasonal pickup events and occasionally offer opportunities for customers to visit and learn more about farm life. Be sure to follow us for updates.
